Original screenprints from the ‘Strawberry Series‘ by David Carlyle Platts now available online for the first time
The official estate of the late artist David Carlyle Platts has today opened public sales of original prints from his acclaimed ‘Strawberry Series’ from the early 1970s), offering collectors a rare chance to own work from one of his most recognisable creative periods.
The Strawberry Series was created at the height of David’s early exploration into pop-inspired imagery and represents one of the most important periods of his career.
Vintage prints, limited editions, certified authenticity
Each print offered is an original artwork from the 1970s, complete with the signs of age: deckled and uneven edges, subtle paper ageing and the textured qualities that speak to decades-old studio practice. Rather than concealing these elements, the estate encourages buyers to frame the full sheet — preserving the time-worn edges as part of the print’s history and authenticity.
Each screenprint is numbered and comes with a stamp and certificate of authenticity issued by the official estate.
A rare connection
For admirers of David’s work, the sale offers a rare connection to his early vision. For new collectors, this presents an opportunity to own a limited-edition print that is officially verified and historically grounded, rather than a modern reproduction.
The sale of these screenprints marks a milestone in the official estate’s broader project to preserve and promote David’s legacy, alongside the restoration of his original home and studio at Bush Cottage, and the gradual unveiling of works which have never before been publicly exhibited.
